1865 Wyoming Battle of Red Buttes

Military sites in 19th century Wyoming territory had many purposes. This included guarding the various trails leading north and west, maintaining the telegraph lines, and dealing with hostiles. This battle is known to have existed however a mystery has shadowed its story for over 150 years. Lost is the location of the largest mass grave of soldiers in US history. Based upon several sources of historic information the possible location of where this grave may exist is explored in this document.
